Alexander Regier discusses a replica Blake press at Rice University, and Jason Whittaker considers the artist's influence on Alasdair Gray
Rice University is the only place in North America where you can find an authentic, functional replica of the star-wheel copper-plate rolling press that famous Romantic poet and artist William Blake used to produce his masterworks. Alexander Regier will tell its story on 11 March, 2024 at 19.00-20.00.
At the time of his death in 2019, the novelist and artist Alasdair Gray was widely lauded as a Scottish William Blake. Jason Whittaker will trace the influence of William Blake on the author of novels such as Poor Things and Lanark: A Life in 4 Books on 8 April, 2024 at 19.00-20.00.
Times given are London-standard time (GMT/BST).
